11.        Squishy Turtle:  This is a state test type exam using a baby book. My students love it. I've included multiple choice questions with upper level vocabulary (Students are forced to use dictionary/thesarus) and several short answer "box" questions that are frequently placed on state assessments. I included a picture of the book in the preview. You can buy it from almost any big book store like Barnes and Noble for about $8.

12.  Gulliver's Travels:  This 22 page packet includes a comprehension quiz for each chapter in the book. I used a retelling from the Jonathan Swift original that is a lot easier to understand.  It is from a series called Classic Starts.  I have included a picture of the front and back covers of the book.  It can be found at any bookstore or online.  The first few chapter quizzes are true/false and the rest are to be answered in complete sentences.  I have included samples of each type below.  The quizzes are made to be very easy if answered as open-book tests while reading the book, but they are much more challenging if used to check for comprehension as closed-book tests.
